Senior celebrates family’s history of Black women farmers through award-winning artwork

Studio Art senior Shyanne Dickey recently won OSU’s Division of Student Affairs Celebrating Black Lives Art Contest with her piece, “Reigning Black Women Farmers.” Dickey, who hails from Tucson, Arizona, ventured outside her normal medium of oil paints to create the digital print. The collage of edited photos depicts six generations of women from Dickey’s family who have worked farmland in rural west Kansas for more than 150 years.

Homecoming events canceled for 2020

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the OSU Alumni Association will be unable to host the 2020 edition of America’s Greatest Homecoming. The centennial celebration originally scheduled for Oct. 26-31 will now be planned for fall 2021.

Oklahoma State University announces new vice president for Student Affairs

Oklahoma State University announces the hiring of Dr. Douglas A. Hallenbeck as vice president for Student Affairs, subject to approval by the OSU/A&M Board of Regents. Dr. Hallenbeck will succeed Dr. Lee Bird, who is retiring in January after more than 18 years of service.
